Volunteer Opportunities
The Strathcona Wilderness Institute operates because
of the hard work of volunteers. Listed below are just a few of the
many areas we frequently need help with. When you volunteer with us, you
can
put your efforts on your resume. We can supply a letter of reference
for future employment.
Who can volunteer?
Anyone! Seniors, students, moms, dads, men, women...
Where We Need Help
• Writing press releases
• Fundraising
• Networking
• Staffing information display tables at events throughout the summer
• Staffing the Information Huts at Buttle Lake and Paradise Meadows
• Desktop publishing; brochure, poster, and newsletter design
• Organizing events
• Development and delivery of interpretive programs and courses
• Public Relations
• Trail and facility maintenance (repairing bridges, diverting water from trails, etc.)
• Public Speaking
• Web site - suggestions, ideas, suggesting links
• Photography - your photos can be shown on the web site and in newsletters,
with full credit
